More Mixed Signals

Finally, we had coffee today, at the café downstairs. He postponed it twice, but hey who was I to complain? We’re just friends, after all, ‘di ba?
Convo topics were mostly office chismis and stories from his department, marketing. However, something really revealing happened:
“Here you go, it’s my treat,” Marcus slid the tray with two steaming cappuccinos on the table in front of me.
“Ha?” I fumbled for my wallet for some cash. “No, here—”
Marcus waved me off, saying: “Don’t worry, malakas ka sa ‘kin!”
I swear, I practically glowed.
“Uh-oh,” Marcus’s tone suddenly took a seriously panicky tone.
“What?” I whipped my head about, half-expecting our boss at the door, demanding why we weren’t at our desks at this time.
Turns out, it was even worse.
“My Ex,” Marcus croaked out, grabbing the promo card stand on the table and hiding behind it. A pretty, long-haired girl in office garb had just entered the café.
Awkward moment! For both of us, I mean. Obviously, he was still affected. The reason for their break-up?
“She couldn’t understand my work, and how I really needed to devote time to it,” he told me with a big sigh, after she had left—thankfully without catching sight of him. “But after my dad passed away, I’m the only one my family’s counting on to contribute at home.”
I nodded, sympathetically. How very noble—I was more drawn to him than ever. Now, if only I wouldn’t feel so insecure.

napaka-noble naman nung guy for helping his family but he shouldn’t have reacted that way when he saw his ex.,nakakahiya sa kasama niya..he should have acted normally…ung parang wala lang…as for you.,watch out because you might be falling for him na….we’ll hope he’s not a bad catch…
